Safety Specialist - Belfield, North Dakota

This is a full time position that is responsible for directing activities associated with pipeline safety, employee safety, technical training and related compliance requirements.  This position develops and establishes procedures to ensure compliance regarding pipeline safety through monitoring state and federal rules and regulations; and implements company safety policies to comply with FERC, OSHA, DOT, environmental, and other safety and health requirements.  This position is responsible for conducting safety meetings; conducting site safety inspections; making recommendations how to remedy unsafe conditions; monitoring workplace conditions; performing regular training and testing on DOT operator qualification topics and OSHA confined space lockout/tagout; HAZCOM; H2S safety and other related issues; preparing safety policies and guidance materials;  maintaining and tracking safety training records; performing accident investigations; and evaluating contractor safety performances.  Minimum requirements include a college degree or related experience in safety work, with prior pipeline experience preferred but not necessary; good office skills and record keeping abilities; knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word; possession of a valid driver’s license; and English language fluency, verbal and written. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
